Yoga in Candlelight

Super stressed and busy every minute of the day is how we spend most weekdays. Running from one meeting to the next – most of us have hectic days at the office, sometimes skipping lunch breaks to find ourselves eating while writing email number 47, already realizing that yet another day might pass without our daily evening yoga practice. Not so this Thursday!

We’re invited to join a very special class this evening at Bliss Shala. A very homely yoga experience in a private setting, the ideal place to leave the stress of the day behind. This cozy place can be found in Ang Mo Kio, 9 min walk from Yio Chu Kang station on the North South Line.

Krisa, who runs this Home Studio is dedicated to help you unwind and find your peace: ‘It does not matter how you compare to others, it is all about you, not anyone else. You might be feeling that the world is with you, or against you. Whatever physical, mental or emotional state you are in, you are bound to leave Bliss Shala feeling ridiculously blissful.’

Candlelight Yoga

Just what we needed. After our standard office day, we find ourselves in the middle of a very calming environment. Just by stepping into Bliss Shala a sense of relaxation comes over us, the room is lit up with candles, while outside the evening turns into night when the class starts at 8:30pm. Slow music is playing, the lights of the candles are flickering and Krisa guides us through a set of asanas. With the support of a variety of props we move from pose to pose, stretching and letting go of the hustles of the day. People who appreciate moments of silence will love this class, others will fall in love – there is no way of escaping the soothing atmosphere. But should you have difficulties switching off from the craziness of the day, Krisa will know how to support you. Latest when you lie down in Shavasana after 75 min of stretching and meditation you will find your inner balance.

After class, we sit down together with a cup of tea, the candles still flickering around us, chatting and ending the day more relaxed than we could have imagined.
