Trauma Sensitive Yoga:
Inner Child Healing

Trauma Sensitive Yoga:
Inner Child Healing

An 8 week supported journey into your safety, choice and embodied awareness.

This small group program offers a gently paced exploration of trauma-sensitive yoga practices, with a focus on inner child awareness.

This journey prioritises grounding, choice and present moment safety, allowing participants to relate to past experiences after anchoring present day resources.

Practices are invitational, adaptable and centred on nervous system regulation.

The trauma sensitive yoga practices draw on evidence-based principles from Trauma Center Trauma‑Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY).

Together, these approaches support experiences of presence, empowerment and agency without pressure to change or fix anything.

Rather than focusing on “doing poses correctly,” the emphasis is on noticing internal experiences and developing a kinder, more attuned relationship with your body.

Our 8 Sessions Journey

This programme explores trauma sensitive principles with grounding, embodiment and inner child healing.

The outline is fluid and each session responds to the group’s pace and capacity. Less doing, more awareness.

Our emphasis is on:

  • Safety

  • Choice

  • Present-moment orientation

  • Embodiment

Session 1 – Grounding and Embodiment

  • Everything is first felt through the body
  • Facilitator vs instructor (shared exploration rather than correction)

  • Defining trauma and protective responses

  • How to use this space safely

Session 2 – Protective Patterns & Inner Dialogue

  • Understanding how you have learned to protect yourself

  • Awareness of “doing” vs “being”

  • Exploring identity through “I…” statements

Session 3 – Trauma & the Body

  • How experiences are stored in the body

  • Pre-verbal memory and sensation

  • Choice and distance

Session 4 – Inner Child Awareness

  • Connection to younger parts of self

  • Identifying inherited beliefs (“I should / I must / I cannot”)

  • Body resourcing

Session 5 – Self Compassion and Mirror Work

  • Meeting fear with grounding

  • Offering oneself the words that were needed

Session 6 – Autonomy and Anchoring

  • Strengthening choice and autonomy

  • Creating safety internally and externally

Session 7 – Allies and Support

  • Recognising internal and external allies

  • Anchoring supportive practices

Session 8 – Reflection and Closure

  • Carrying practices forward

Important Principles

  •  No hands-on adjustments
  • No requirement to share personal stories
  • No emotional catharsis expected
  • Participants remain oriented to the present

Each session will be 2 hours and capped at the maximum of 5 participants. This is a closed group program from Week 3 to ensure safety and predictability in the group.

The trauma therapy is a life saver for me especially during such trying times. It became a solace that I look forward to every week. The classes made me more aware and connected to my feelings and what are my triggers which in turn give me the ability to manage my emotions better. Definitely highly recommended for anyone seeking self healing or inner peace when going through any challenges in life.

Your Facilitators

KRISA QIU

Krisa is a certified Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) facilitator from 2019, trained through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute in United States.

She integrates trauma-sensitive yoga with body-based practices and inner child integration approaches to create safe, choice-centred spaces.

Trained in traditional Yoga practices in India, Krisa brings a grounded, non-performative style to her teaching at Bliss Shala, where meditation and embodied awareness remain at the heart of her work.

YEE TING

With years of dedicated practice through various seasons of her life, Yee Ting has experienced yoga as a steady and compassionate companion.

She believes in yoga as a pathway toward self-discovery, inner growth, and healing — a practice that invites curiosity rather than performance.

Her personal exploration led her to the work of Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, an approach that deeply resonates with her values of gentleness, autonomy, and embodied awareness. Rooted in trauma-informed principles, her offerings emphasize choice, agency, and present-moment experience.
This programme was developed by Krisa, a certified Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) facilitator since 2019.

It weaves together trauma sensitive yoga with gentle inner child work, supporting participants in reconnecting with themselves at a pace that feels steady and sustainable.

This program prioritises safety, invitational language and choice that you are the expert on your own body.

This program can support you if:

  • You feel easily overwhelmed, anxious or on edge

  • You struggle to rest or switch off, even when tired

  • You tend to over function, over give or carry too much responsibility for others

  • You notice a harsh inner critic or constant self doubt

  • You feel disconnected from your body or emotions

  • You often react quickly and later wish you had responded differently

  • You experience tension in the body ( for example: jaw, shoulders, chest, stomach)

  • You feel “stuck” in old relational patterns

  • You seek to understand how early experiences can shape your current responses

  • You are ready to face the issues at your own pace

  • You wish to regulate your nervous system in a safe, contained small group space

This programme is supportive and body-based but not a substitute for clinical therapy or mental health treatment.
